Philippe Schmit is an ambitious legal professional with extensive expertise in IT-Compliance and Data Protection. His career is marked by significant milestones in both professional and academic realms.  

Philippe has worked as an Associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Vienna (Austria), where he specialized in Technology and Data, providing tailored solutions to businesses in their data protection endeavors.

At the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) in Vienna, he conducted intensive legal research on e-commerce and data transactions, enhancing his expertise in digital data protection.

As Legal Counsel at Austria's Data Protection Authority, he played a key role in investigating data protection complaints, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since 2022, Philippe has been working as an External Data Protection Officer, advising organizations on GDPR compliance and helping them navigate complex data protection challenges.

On the academic side, Philippe holds a Master's in Comparative Law from the University of Strasbourg in France, a Master's in IT/IP Law from the University of Vienna in Austria, and a Master's in Sustainability and Business from the Rome Business School in Italy, which he received a scholarship for. Fluent in English, French, German, and Luxembourgish, he provides expert data protection advice across diverse cultural and linguistic contexts.
